The management was super helpful and responsive. Best service we have had in a long time. The room was dated and maybe not the cleanest, but that worked fine for us. We loved the balcony and proximity to the beaches. The room came equipped with everything we needed and more (beach chairs, beach towels, beach toys, washer and dryer). Pleanty of space for a family of four in the 1bdrm, but we'd switch to a 2 bdrm next time.

My husband and I had a fun and relaxing time. Played tennis. Courts are in need of repair. Tripping hazards. Condo was nice but dishwasher stopped working. It was quickly fixed but garbage disposal was sacrificed to make that happen. Light bulbs burned out and needed to be replaced. Needed pot holders dish wash cloths and a ironing board.

Overall good experience and had all the basics. The hosts were very responsive and location was good ( easy to get to multiple destinations and near grocery stores, shops and beaches). We did have to reclean our dishes and coffee machine upon arriving. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances necessities you may need. We particularly enjoyed the Lanai which overlooks a grassy courtyard with palm trees. The property is a little older and dark. The AC has a max 4 hour timer so it was inconvenient to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it on again. But overall, it was a good base for a trip to Maui.

great location and amenities, check in process wasn't smooth, was sent to the wrong building and couldn't access room, had to haul all the luggage twice, no working phone in case of emergency, several room lights we out, coffee pot lid was broken and would spill if not held on with finger, living room tv did not work properly, kitchen sink had a leak in the drain piping, bi-fold mirror / door to washer-dryer needs adjusted and lubrication, patio/Lanai drapes were sun rotted/weathered and extremely poor condition, reported issues to maintenance and management via text and phone 4 times, no response but someone did come in while we were out and fixed the leak, 10th trip to Hawaii with the most issues of any trip however we will return if possible

The condo was very nice and clean.The condo grounds were amazing.
The air conditioners had timers on them which was a drawback. The AC in the living room could not cool down the area and the one in the bedroom was cool enough but would shut off after a max of 4 hrs and you would have to restart it.

Enjoyed the big lanai and two bathrooms. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. Great location next to beach and in less busy part of Kihei. Property management was helpful and responsive.

Pros:

The property has great location, close to the beach and everywhere in the island. The unit is roomy and nicely setup and has washer and dryer.

Cons:

The bed is too soft for me. The toilet in the bedroom is leaking. Our unit lock was replaced during our stay. I wish the maintenance could call us first, so we would not panic when we found out our keys didn't work after a long day of sightseeing. The unit has beach chairs. It would be nice to provide a cooler.

Overall an excellent stay. While there I had communication with “Ed” the maintenance guy and he was very helpful. The furnishings were overall very good with a couple of minor items that should be replaced such as the toaster and a beach umbrella. We definitely would stay at the same condo unit if given the opportunity. With these minor items I give a “10” rating.

A friend recommended this property and for the most part I loved it! The grounds were phenomenal, as far as the grass, trees, tiki torches, little water fall. The walk ways and elevators and gym were clean. The pool area was pleasant and also very clean. Our room had some problems, like the pull out bed was damaged and hard to put away. When the air conditioner was on it was too cold but off it was too hot. And there were bugs, a lot of little bugs. They were on all the tables, on the floor and counter tops. I didn’t like eating in my room because of that.

Easy check-in tho the office closes at 5, they have a phone on the side for check ins, plenty of parking, elevators and a cart to use for luggage. We had a 1 bdrm, 2 full bathrooms with a FULL kitchen and a balcony with great views of the mountains and the beach. Condo has a pullout couch and a day bed for extra ppl. An ac unit in living room and another in the bdrm, on timers 6 hrs max.
The property is beautiful and very well maintained! Grills and a pool in the center and easy access to the beautiful beach with a great view of sunsets! The condo had chairs and a cooler plus some other beach stuff in the closet. Plenty of room for a family but perfect for a couple as well! Quiet time is from 10pm to 8am, though it was quiet all the time here!
Condo was super clean, we used their towels when going out but returned everything once done, they supplied plenty of towels.
The area is laid back, more locals than tourist and everyone is friendly. Close to a Safeway, gas station, and McDonald's. Perfect spot in my opinion and I will definitely stay there again!!

Our recent stay at the Maui Sunset was a welcome alternative during the current work-from-anywhere season of our lives. The unit was super clean and functional with a well-appointed kitchen and breezy lanai, and the internet service was solid during those frequent video calls. The location was practical for us as well, quiet and close enough to town that we did not need a rental car for this trip. It was a refreshing stay for us, and we are already looking forward to a return visit.

It was clear that the property management was not happy about opening their property up to mainland guest. Very disappointed in how we were treated not only on the property side but by locals all around. Pool was nice but some staff at activities desk were over the top policing. FYI you have to wear a mask in the parking lot even if you are by yourself. Don't ask the front desk for help with your unit as you are a timeshare not an owner.

The grounds were well maintained and gorgeous, no need for shoes on the property. Extremely quiet area with access to local shopping and dining. Condo was super clean, newly renovated and had all of the conveniences of my own kitchen. The blender worked great. The ice maker in the refrigerator kept up with all of our cooler and cocktail needs.

The reservation staff was awesome!! I had to adjust my travel dates due to covid testing results at the last minute and Carrie was able to adjust my stay with no change fees and made me feel comfortable that we were going to be taken care of. Thank you.

The property is nicely located. the grounds are very well maintained.
The condo we stayed in was nice but a few maintenance items were not fixed when we arrived. nothing major that disrupted our stay. I would return to this place and would happily recommend.

Condo was clean and well maintained. Had all the necessities. The partial ocean view is really just a tiny bit of blue between some trees, not really a "view", which is actually the lawn between the buildings. Not sure what is premium about this unit, seemed pretty standard. Balcony in building A is pretty much unusable all afternoon due to heat - faces south and black rug. Manager was very curt/unfriendly, almost rude when we were checking in (we were not told about a 4 pm check in). Beach is decent but nothing special. Liked the location in Kihei and that it is on the ocean side of the road.

Perfect. Located in the center of Maui so it was very easy to get everywhere. The Place was great, very clean and well stocked. It had beach chairs, umbrella, coolers and the people were very helpful. (Would like a bigger bed only had a full size.)

Beautiful unit (#305) to look at but some important issues. There was NO, NOT EVEN PARTIAL, ocean view which is perplexing since that is what it is labeled. Bedroom blinds didn't provide enough privacy. Worst of all was the smell in the unit. VERY STRONG fried food odor was pervasive throughout stay even though we left the doors and windows open for airing. Distracted substantially from the quality of the unit.

Excellent property with great amenities and a beach. Perfectly located for exploring all Maui has to offer. Some units and their furniture are a bit dated but others are nicely updated. Two bathrooms were a huge plus for a family of 4.

Aloha, I do my best to show the condos as they are via pictures before you reserve. In order to accommodate your dates you agreed to stay in an older condo then move to after the first 4 nights ot another more expensive condo. The price for this condo is a great value, it is clean and well maintained even if the kitchen is a bit dated. The master bath, which you did not comment on, is brand new with floor to ceiling tile and walk in shower. Newer furniture is found throughout, including bedroom furniture, the living room has a newer couch, TV stand and furniture, as well as updated artwork. We spoke after your arrival and you mentioned a couple of areas that needed attention, Cheryl stopped by and tried to meet with you to correct. It was determined most of the items were just , but older. I do hope you enjoyed the more expensive and renovated condo you moved into. Its our goal to accurately show the condos as not every guests budget is the same, not all can afford top dollar for the newest and renovated accommodations. While the condo had all the basics, it needs to be updated. The furniture is very worn and the carpet is way past due for replacement. There were several items that needed repair. The beach was not for swimming. There was a public park nearby with homeless.

Aloha Enrique, I'm glad I was able to speak with you about your concerns. The Maui Sunset usually gets fantastic reviews for the gorgeous grounds and the sandy beach in front, a walking beach with small waves. Of course the best snorkeling and body surfing beaches are just south of the property. I do hope you reconsider and come back to Maui Sunset, I would recommend perhaps one of our premium renovated condos, a bit more expensive, but have the new kitchens and bathrooms. This was my 2nd time staying with the Maui Sunset. It was great the first time and was the 2nd time. beautiful grounds, pool, area. the front desk people were very kind. The concierge person gave us the run around and that was disappointing but we managed.

Vacation rental experience good, although not desirable for four adults, as there was only a curved couch and a twin bed for accommodating 2 adults other than the one bedroom. Location of the condo was great, next to ocean, near shopping and restaurants, etc.

In this unit, if you like pink carpet, this place is for you. Pink carpet throughout, oriental furniture. There was noise from movement of furniture above, as the above unit has tile flooring so whenever chairs etc were moved, you could hear it. Sometimes someone was drilling above and hammering. Semi-updated. TV in bedroom in wrong place, could not watch from bed.

Aloha, I do hope you had a wonderful time back at Maui Sunset. This trip we had you in one of our standard condos, the condo has many updates but the "coral" color carpet and interior design is not for everyone. I'll check on the condo common for renovations to be done during the peak season, and they should be following the quiet hours. I've inquired with the owner about moving the TV for better viewing. See you next year.

2nd vacation at same property. First visit was a nicer (better furnished & located) unit. After hours check-in due to late flight was very slow - i.e., long hold on phone; finally re-dialed to get answer, then hold again until finally a security guard was sent to provide key. First morning official check-in person was late and did not know answers to some simple questions (like cleaning mid stay for 2 week and longer stays) which I later found answers to in the guide book. I would think staff should at least know these things. After getting settled, everything was really nice. The property grounds are immaculately kept by the grounds crew. Easy access to the beach. Relaxing atmosphere; felt like we lived in Maui for 2 weeks vs. vacationing there. Good central location on island for access to West (Lahaina), upcountry, and East (Hana). Good value.
