We always enjoy staying at the Maui Sunset! We would never stay anywhere else!

We had a one-week stay in a one-bedroom unit at the Mai Sunset in early December. The unit was clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed the ease of taking care of our own meals or going out. The pool area and the grounds are excellent. The beach area is not a swimming, sun-bathing beach, and is as much a locals beach area as it is a tourists area. Best for activities like wind surfing or fishing. Magnificent sunsets. 'Relax' is the best word to use for the week!

The stay was fine. There was an error in the dates, which caused us to pay for three days that we weren't there, which cost me $900. Not happy about that.

Very nice unit, we were “thrilled” with 2 bathrooms. Kihei is a “central” location on the Maui, so made destinations equidistant. Overall very happy with condo, lots of decent/reasonable restaurants, shave ice, bakeries, Safeway & Foodland, very close.

Great staff and wonderful grounds awesome beach access. The furniture in the unit was old, dirty and uncomfortable and the big rattan chair was broken. The A.C. window shakers were noisy and the timers are a nuisance. The AC in the bedroom was the worst and we called to have ii replaced and it was done without question. We should have had the ceiling fan in the bedroom replaced as well because on any speed but high it made a terrible buzzing sound. There was an infestation of ants in the kitchen, I asked for some taro but never followed up on it with maintenance. After all taxes and fees the room was definately not worth the 400+ dollars a night we paid.

We had 12 family members staying at the Maui Sunset and it has everything that the adults and children need to relax and close enough to enjoy the beaches, snorkeling and boating. We rented four condos that are fully equipped. The grounds are maintained daily along with the large pool and six gas grills. The views from the balconies are beautiful looking out to the ocean and the West Mountain with fantastic sunsets. The staff is great, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed it all. Your security man, Joe from Jersey is a pleasure to talk with. Thank you. We will return again.

We stay at Maui Sunset every year. Usually we travel with a group of 8 and all couples reserve their own condo at Maui Sunset. This year B514 was the winner. Everyone who traveled with us said next year they want a unit that sits up higher with better views. The B building is definitely set up at a better angle than the A building. Unit B514 did not disappoint. It was very clean, new wood floors, and everything worked properly. Thanks again. See you next year!

Great place to stay! Watching whales from your lanai and just enjoying the wonderful warm breeze is the best relaxation. The tropical fruits and fresh fish is also a plus. The condo is clean, new flooring, and comfortable.

This was our second stay at Maui Sunset and we loved it. The accommodations were very nice and the grounds are just stunningly beautiful. And the sunsets are amazing. Our only disappointment is the fitness center. It is like working out in a dungeon. Would have rated 5 stars except for that.

We recently had a very nice stay at the Maui Sunset. This was a return visit and as before the suite was perfect, clean, well appointed, shady and cool in the afternoon. The parking was never a problem. The pool and grounds are very well kept and the walk to the beach is right outside the door. We look forward to our next visit.

Facility is in a nice location with beautiful sunsets. Grounds were perfectly manicured and pool area was great. Room needs attention. Carpet needs to be replaced due to age, stains and lifting from pad. Air conditioning not completely keeping up with heat and humidity. Room well supplied with accessories for cooking and eating in.

We love staying at this condo. It has everything we need to enjoy our stay in Kihei. B side is shaded from the sun and keeps the condo cool enough that you very seldom need AC. Wonderful whale watching fro our lanai.

The Location is great, and this was a vey nice unit. It needs some updating and a little TLC in terms of carpeting and painting. The sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable and needs updating as well. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but missing a few key item that are normally provided in a vacation rental such as cooking oil basic condiments and the like. Minor things but would rent this unit again for two of us not four since the other sleeping arrangements were not good.

All was except for check in experience. I’ll never come in again on a Sunday when the desk is closed. Our flight was changed and we got in early. We had talked to everyone ahead of time and they said they would do their best to get the room ready by 11:00. The room was ready by 11:00 but housekeeping couldn’t get anyone to let us in. A maintenance man finally went and got Carie and we got in about 2:30 House keeping and maintenance were great. The desk was great helping us with our boarding passes when we left.

Our Maui Sunset vacation rental never seems to disappoint us. We usually stay at Maui Sunset every June for 2 weeks. We like to go to Maui in June because the tradewinds are great. We enjoy kiteboarding right from Maui Sunset and watching the magical sunsets right from our Lanai every night. The rooms and cleaning staff are amazing. The units are extremely quiet due to the concrete structure. I only hope to one day own a condo like this.

We've stayed at this location several times, and this unit(B514), was our favorite so far. Very clean,and had a great view. Unit had beach chairs, beach towels, an umbrella, and a boogie board.

Location was great, living area of unit was spacious. Views from balcony were excellent. The pool area and grounds were very nice. The exterior and shared areas of the building could definitely use a face lift. I would make some small changes to this property (freshening up the shower curtains).

The Maui Sunset is a beautiful location and facility, with lots of amenities to make the stay feel perfect. Everything--the units, the grounds, the pool etc. are all meticulously maintained, making this a wonderful vacation experience. Love it!

the unit is clean, fully stocked and the grounds, pool are also really clean & well maintained. we had a really great experience staying here. This is a 'less busy' part of Kihei yet still close to so many conveniences like Longs, Safeway, post office, banks, McDonalds, Outback, Maui Brewery and many other eating places.

Everything was very beautiful, all the people were very friendly, the pool was perfect, the room was very clean and very accommodating. Everything was perfect except the four (4) hour timer on the bedroom A.C.
This meant that if you went to bed at 10: PM, you would be awakened in a pool of sweat at 2:10 AM, and have to get out of bed to turn the AC back on. The very same thing happens again at 6:20 AM, so for your night's sleep you have to get up twice during your (so called) restful nights sleep.
The management claims that this is saving money on the electrical bill. This is nothing but BULL !!!
Every customer putting up with miss directed thought does the same thing that I do, I put the AC on about two hours before I go to bed, and let the AC run another two hours after I get up around 8:00 AM. So doing the math, the AC is really left on for a total period of about 12 hours total, where it should only be left on for about 8 or 10 hours.
In any event, your customer has to put up with this very bad, stressful management decision.

Aloha Jerald, Thank you for taking the time to review our condo at Maui Sunset. The electrical costs in Maui are very high, nearly $300 per month in the summer, even with the timers. Many properties don't have a/c at all. Your complaints last year when you stayed with us were noted, and we glad you decided to return. Majority of Electricity in Maui is from the oil fueled power plant, wind and solar only a fraction. Overall it seems you enjoyed the stay and location. Mahalo, Steve

I was very comfortable in this unit. It was clean, well appointed and in a location I enjoy. There were all of the amenities you would expect for a maui vacation; pool, steps to the beach for a sunset picnic, or watch the sunset from the balcony.

It couldn't have been better. Beautiful ocean and garden views, plenty of activities available to do, very well maintained facilities, inside and out, and the friendliest, most helpful staff (including reservation associates). Oh, by the way, did I mentioned the beautiful sunsets (every evening). This was a surprise trip that my wife gave me for my 70th birthday. We enjoyed the facility so much that we're coming back in October 2019 to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Aloha Joe, I hope overall your group had a great time at our condos. The 1 bedrooms have 3 beds to sleep a max of 5. They can not accommodate another roll-away bed. Mahalo, Steve

A couple of issues:
- plugged kitchen drain on day of arrival, was not able to use the kitchen sink or diswasher for 2 days - the time it took to get this dealt with. Very frustrating as we cook at home.
- toaster only toasts on one side!.... a toaster is a cheap item to replace!
- water kettle on the stove is very dangerous if you are not aware that the lid knob is missing and when you grab the handle to poor your Boiling water, you can get a steam burn. Once again a cheap item to replace.
- more kitchen towels and dish clothes!! One dish cloth is not enough for 10 nights!
- Queen bed is not comfortable.
-had to wash the linens on the murphy bed as there were stains.
- And we vacuumed the carpets as they looked flat.

otherwise generally good -- how would you feel with these issues after paying over $295 US per night?

Enjoyed 10 days at Maui Sunset (in February, 2018). The suite was perfect and well appointed, stocked with everything we could need. Very clean. (I will note this is a 40+ year old property, so some more 'modern features' not available. Individual suites vary in terms of décor, furniture. General property condition is good.) Wonderful grounds and access to adjacent park and beaches. Loved the pool area, and various recreation amenities (incl. tennis/pickleball, shuffleboard, putting.) Office, housekeeping and maintenance staff were most helpful and polite--we appreciated our positive interactions with staff. For stays in Kihei this is a good property.

This was our third stay in the same unit at Maui Sunset. The location is perfect and the view marvelous. The grounds are beautiful. The kitchen is well-supplied-had everything we needed except a coffee grinder. The only thing less than great was that the living room furniture is not very comfortable. All the personnel we dealt with, starting with booking, were very helpful. We highly recommend Maui Sunset.

Maui Sunset is still a great place to stay. We had water issues with a new air conditioner but the maintainance man was great and came three times to make sure everything was working. We always enjoy Maui Sunset.

We stayed at Maui Sunset for 8 nights. Overall I have to say the property is well maintained and our Condo was clean and had an amazing view. The best part of Maui Sunset was actually the sunset every evening, it was incredible. While it looks like nothing great from the street, the grounds and pool are very pretty and very well maintained. Our wifi never worked correctly but other than that I can't really say anything bad about the place.

Aloha! So glad you discovered the "inner" beauty of Maui Sunset. I side its not much to look at, but come inside and you'll get the views, and oasis that it is famous for. I'll check on the if the router has gone glitchy. -Steve
